H. Frank Carey High School is one of five high schools in the Sewanhaka Central High School District of Nassau County. Carey High School is a junior/ senior high school with grades 7-12. Total population is approximately 1,800 students from the surrounding communities such as Garden City South, West Hempstead, Elmont, and Franklin Square. Carey is located in the small Long Island town of Franklin Square, and has become one of the center points of community interaction. From sports events to club sponsored activities, and don't forget the learning experience, Carey is always busy with many things to see and participate in.

MISSION STATEMENT

H. Frank Carey High School strives to create a culture and climate that:

PROFILE OF A GRADUATE

Students should be able to:

    • Learn how to learn – become problem solvers.
    • Use critical thinking and problem solving skills to deal with real life situations.
    • Think analytically.
    • Be politically, culturally and environmentally aware.
    • Handle life’s challenges and obstacles and to be resilient.
    • Use practical skills to live independently.
    • Utilize technology in productive and responsible manner and adapt to the ever-changing advances in technology.
    • Demonstrate integrity through moral and ethical decision making.
