Carey's Girls' Junior and Varsity Soccer teams are open to girls in grades 8-12 and tryouts start August 27, 2001. The season starts in the beginning of September and ends in October, and can go further if the team makes the playoffs. Generally, the girls play two to three games per week.

The 2001 season will provide many new challenges for the talented girls' team. Any time a team moves up a conference in High School Sports, the level of competition increases and the team must raise their level of play in order to be successful. Although this year's team will be young, they will be very experienced being that most of the team has been playing at the varsity level for two years now.
Carey's Girls Soccer team has been intact for the past two seasons, and both of those seasons were very successful.
In the 2000 season, under the guidance of coach Lola Intagliata, the team (which only had one senior on the team) finished with a
7-6-1 record in Conference VII. For post season honors, a sophmore and a junior received All-Conference and a
sophmore received All Class. The outlook for the upcoming 2001 season looks positive as the team moves up to Conference
VI. Only one senior is graduating, and the three players who received post season honors are returning.
