What is the Flag Squad?
The Flag Squad is considered a club but we act like a team. They are the flag "twirling" team. The club is a part of the Marching Band.
What events does the club participate in?
The Flag Squad participates in the Newsday Festival at Hofstra every year, half-time at varsity football games, parades (Homecoming and Memorial Day), and pep rally. District Marching Band for Flag Squad is also available. In the past, they have also marched in New York City during the Columbus Day Parade and the St. Patrick's Day Parade.
Who are the officers of the Flad Squad?
The officers are Victoria Violo (captain), Haley Friscia (co-captain), and Alyssa Moebius (co-captain).
How often does the flag squad meet?
During the school year, the flag squad meets twice a week usually for one hour until the football season is over. Practices are also over the summer once a week for about 2 hours.
When are the practices?
The practices are held after school starting at 3:15. Members will meet in the Band Room and go ut into the hallway to practice.
Who can participate or be on the Flag Squad?
Anyone can participate. You can be a part of the team as early as 8th grade. A person interested would have to sign up at the end of the school year to be a part of the team the following year.
Do you have to pay any dues to be in the club?
No dues need to be paid.
